I’ll admit I was a little nervous about my session at the HR + L&D Innovation & Tech Fest in Sydney. I believed in our message, and in myself. The worry was the schedule: we were on during afternoon tea, with several other sessions running at the same time, and I honestly wasn’t sure anyone would come.

People came, and they kept coming until it was standing room only.

What we showed

The last time we attended this conference, Hoogly was focused on employee engagement. This time we shared how far we’ve come. Hoogly can now listen across the entire employee journey, from onboarding and engagement through to 360-degree feedback and exit.

The killer app is our DIY conversational survey builder. Leaders tell Hoogly what they want to learn, and our AI helps them create a bespoke, voice-enabled conversational survey. They skip the rigid templates and the weeks of waiting on consultants, and get a more human way to understand their people: one-to-one conversations, at scale. It is listening, unlocked.

What people want to use it for

We talked about using it to find the learning and development needs of café owners across a large franchise, and to understand how employees are using AI today, where they’re struggling and what support they need.

What stayed with me

The energy in the room. It felt intimate and engaged, with a lot of nodding, and you can tell when a message is landing and not just being presented.

There is no shortage of AI being sprinkled over existing products right now. What excited me was the sense that Hoogly is meeting, and perhaps exceeding, the bar People leaders have set for AI: it has to be useful, and it has to deliver something they can point to.

Early access

We’re opening a small number of early-access places for teams, departments and organisations that want to experiment with the conversational survey builder. If you couldn’t make the session and would like to see the new tools, or you have a listening use case you’d like to explore, book a time with us and say you’re after early access. One of the Hoogly team, or I, will walk you through what we’ve built. We’ll prioritise organisations with interesting use cases, where we can learn and build together.

Before you commission your next survey, ask what would make your people feel heard. People want to be heard far more than they want to be surveyed, and we can help you make that shift.

This follows our preview of the session. You can see the other events we’re attending on our events page.
